ROUND FOURTEEN: SURVIVE BIG BROTHER
Come on in, final five!
I'll take back immunity, too! Back up for grabs!
Today's challenge is not mine, but rather Colleen's. Amanda asked her for permission to use it in Malaysia BEFORE she had expressed interest in playing. I'd like to thank Colleen again for letting us borrow it!
Anyway, this challenge is one of a kind, and as it takes much dedication, we thought it would be fair to use it as a Tribal challenge. In Malaysia. Since this is All-Stars, though, things have changed. Well... also due to quitters and changing plans because we thought it'd be more epic. Regardless of what I [Amanda] am squawking about, this one will last 48 hours.
The entire point of this challenge is to create your own ORG, either Survivor or Big Brother. You don't need to actually host it (if you want to, you certainly can!), but rather create the game and get the necessary sign-ups for it. You are to create your own URL, and we would like login information for an admin account if possible. Doesn't need to be your own. You can make a dummy account so we can check IPs.
In the 48-hour time span, you must beautify your site, create an ORG, and get as many sign-ups as possible. Judging will be done by Amanda, Erik, and at least two other judges, on a 50-point scale like so:
Board basics - easy points - 10 points
-Is there a sign-up board?
-Is there a place to hold challenges?
-Are there confessionals for each player?
-Is there a Tribal Council / Living Room board?
Board design - 20 points
-Does the board look appealing?
-Is there a logo? Does it look nice?
-Do the players have avatars? Do the avatars look nice?
-Are the images (avatars, board pics, flags, etc.) consistent or do they look sloppy?
-Are the colors appealing or do they not mix well?
Concept - 10 points
-Is there a theme or twist?
-Is the theme or twist something fresh or something overused?
-Would YOU want to play in this game? Or is there a reason for you to... not?
Cast - 10 points
-Are there at least 20 unique sign-ups?
We WILL be checking IPs at the site, so no funny business - you, as a host, CANNOT sign up, you have to get other people to. And, yes, I want 20. You can ask other players in this game to sign up, but they may not assist you in any other way if they do. You can have them be PWs and help them recruit. It's 1 point for every 1 people you get.
The people you recruit may sign up as anyone they wish, but if you want to create a specific cast list too, be my guest. Keep this in mind: Cahaya chose cartoon characters in Malaysia, and lost points because they had a specific cast list. If your theme is THAT broad, it's best to NOT to give people characters to sign up with. If you want to do a theme with actual contestants along clique lines, go ahead.
There are no limits to avatars; you MAY just use cropped in-game or profile pics, but keep in mind that consistency is important. Feel free to use an effect in Photoshop, but keep in mind that recognizability is important too. And make sure they're not oversized or blurry!
You MAY ask Amanda (PM please!) or Erik for Proboards assistance, but I doubt you guys will need it. You may NOT ask us to sign-up or actually contribute. I recommend that you plan it out at the board you're given, but where you di it is your call.
You do not need to make challenges or anything like that; all I want is a starting point. A board, a concept, a cast, and a design. You have 48 hours to do it. If two or more people need more time,
The person with the most cumulative points from 4 judges wins immunity and is safe from Tribal Council. Losers have a date with us and someone will be joining the jury.
Any questions, you know where to find us! All-Stars ready? GO!
This will be due Saturday at 8 PM EST. Good luck!
