ROUND ELEVEN: STORYTELLER
Come on in, guys! Immunity is back up for grabs.
You guys somehow KNEW this was coming. This has been one of the most well-received challenges in the series. People have enjoyed writing their stories in both Malaysia and Manchuria, and as we are beginning down the final stretch, I thought this would be a fun way to recap the insanity that has preceded this.
In today's challenge, you each will be writing a story. A story about this game, rather. Or, if you'd like, you can include your prior experiences in the series too!
You can either recap the entire game so far in some fashion or focus on a particular round; the only requirement is that it must be at least 750 words long. That is a bit more than in the past, but you guys are All-Stars (for reference, this post has about 418 words). There is no maximum word count. Just... don't write like Tolstoy, please. There are no limitations to the format - if you want to tell an epic poem, by all means do. The only thing we're looking for is 750 plus words, and that it is a STORY, not a boring old recap. We want you to be CREATIVE. Look at Candice's Inactiveidous outbreak, Frosti's crazy high school drama, or Russell's zombie infestation - those took a recap and turned them into a story. If you merely recap what happened, you'll put us to sleep. This will cost a LOT of points.
The submissions will be judged by myself, Erik, and at least two others.
I know that most of you are not writers, but the categories for scoring are as follows:
-Coherency: Does the story have a flow, or is it a mindless ramble that is hard to follow?
-Grammar: No mistakes like your/you're confusion or sentences that make no sense
-Fun: Was the story fun to read?
-Originality: Was the story refreshing and new, or did it rely on clichés or rip off from other people's stories in the series?
-Relation to the game
Each category is worth 10 points. Each judge will score out of 50, for a total of 200 points.
We WILL be flexible lenient with a few grammar mistakes. Even though you are All-Stars, you're not all English majors. Everything else... we're going to be a bit harsher with.
You are free to use the staff as characters, just remember that we're the ones judging and won't take kindly to being subjected to torture or death or anything like that. Or hat destruction. I love my hat.
However, this is more like Malaysia's challenge. That's because two people will be winning immunity, and two people will be sent to the jury at this Tribal Council. There is a LOT at stake here!
Any questions, let me know! I'll be willing to give you assistance with grammar if you need it, just don't rely on me too much!
You have 48 hours to submit a story in your confessional. The four of us will judge them as quickly as possible, and hopefully results will be up promptly. If you do not wish to submit a story, please inform me or post in your confessional. We don't like having to remove people in All-Stars.
Good luck everyone! All-Stars ready? GO!
