Rob's Speech About The Game

I just can't bite my tongue any longer with any of this that has been going on lately, and I've tried hard to, but I'm sick of people sitting here and punching me. Well you're not gonna punch Rob Mariano for the last time and have me take the blow, cause I'm swinging right back.

First off, people tell me all the time "It's just a game" if I get upset over not winning, or anything like that. Yet, here I see everyone getting pissed off at me for making a mistake. That mistake was giving Candice my word and going back on it. I tried to look out for her feelings, and I will tell you with 100% honesty, I'm a genuinely nice person. Yes it hurts me to hurt another person, and I thought in my mind that I'd hurt her by telling her the truth, so I was looking out for her feelings, and I completely started a shitstorm. I mean half this cast acts like I was happy to vote out Candice, and it was the total fucking opposite, so don't you fucking assume shit when you are not me. I mean when I wrote my vote, I wrote a little heartfelt speech about the vote, now you tell me, does that sound like the kind of guy who was happy that he had to vote out a friend? So what if more people supported Candice that night and more people were like "fuck Rob?" I bet you didn't realize though that this girl you all supported that night told me to kill myself did you?

The whole fun factor has been completely sucked out of this game, we're not playing an ORG for fun anymore, we're playing it cause everyone is acting like a bunch of 5 year olds cause Rob made a boo boo.

The thing with ORGs is that they can sever friendships, but the thing is this. A true friend would know to separate the game from reality, not go and turn a whole bunch of people against me cause I made a bad fuck up. I'm gonna make one thing clear: I DO NOT value a game over friendship. If I did, I would have voted out Candice, without having any feelings of guilt like I did that night. Doesn't sound like the kind of guy that values a game over friendships.

If you think this thread is mainly shots at Candice, you're wrong. There are several of you in this game taking things way too personal, it's not just her. You know who you are, if you have IMed me bitching at me, then you are the others I'm addressing.

I apologize that this rant is so long, but I wanted to get my point across. For all the people that are anti-Rob, if you feel the thrill in outlasting a 19 year old that you have NEVER met in your life and probably NEVER will, then my hat is off to you for taking an online game this serious.

I'm not asking for anyone's forgiveness, I'm just getting all of this off my chest because it's ridiculous to see what an online game has transformed into. This drama has completely killed and buried all the fun for everyone. This thread is either gonna kill this drama once and for all, or either I'm just beating a dead horse, if it doesn't then hey at least I got my say in. Also, I didn't make this to pick fights, I made this to try and end this drama once and for all, so don't come on here fighting.

I asked you whether or not you were voting me. I just wanted to KNOW. I didn't care if you voted me out, I had already won, but I thought I at least had your respect and decency to at least be told that you were going to do it.

You gave me your word a whole SEVEN HOURS before the votes were due, and NOT ONCE during that period of time did you think or have the respect for me to tell me you had lied or changed your mind.

And let's be clear here, I DID NOT SICK PEOPLE ON YOU. I posted status updates mocking you yes, but did I deliberately IM friends of mine to attack you? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

I have friends who care about me and I relayed the story to them, and that's when they decided to confront you, because I'm a damn good friend to people I consider my friends and treat them with respect and good will, and I'm sorry you didn't think to offer me the same.

I do apologize for saying to kill yourself, but there was no actual validity and venom of that level I held in the statement.

Regarding Jimmy in treemail as well, I think everyone is thinking I'm just a poor sport and pissed that I lost the game. I'm a poor for about a day or two, this whole is that I was LIED to in such a DISTASTEFUL way.

This whole issue isn't about winning games, it's about respect and friendship, something I was insulted to have shunned away from me from probably the second friend I genuinely made in the ORG world.

My apologies for thinking you did that, the other night when you went "let's see how well you do when nobody likes you" or something similar, I thought maybe there was that possibility you were turning people on me. Not once in the 5 ORGs have I played, have I ever had that situation come up where I had to choose between two good friends, two friends that listened to me when I was down... I'm new to that whole situation entirely and I didn't know how to handle that. I shouldn't have gave you my word and went back on it, I thought if I had, you'd be hurt, and I couldn't bear knowing I did that to a friend (and I'm not telling you this as Rob, I'm telling you this 100% as Bryan.) Yes, I admit I made a mistake, was all the rantings I received by everyone afterwards worth it? Yes. It made me feel like a complete bastard, and that was the last thing I wanted to be in this game.

Look, I did not mean it to show bias or tell Rob that he was wrong. I just wanted him to realize something... and that was from me the person, not me the host.
